Anilao is definitely a great diving destination all year round, especially for underwater photography. Apart from the relatively rare typhoons during the months of July through September, little hinders a great adventure. The small town of Anilao is located in Mabini, which is south. All diving resorts around it are situated on a wide peninsula with alternative transportation routes to and from the mainland of Luzon. Even when the weather is not ideal, we can still find tranquillity for scuba diving. The summer months, from March to April (when Filipino schools are on recess), are excellent for scuba diving. On the other hand, December to February is also a high season, with water temperatures dipping down as low as 25 degrees Celsius. Ironically, the monsoon season, from July to September, often offers the best underwater visibility due to the constant exchange of water that clears suspended particles such as jellyfish and plankton.
